Inklusive Nature CIC is one year old today! It’s been an amazing year. I’ve worked on some really inspiring projects with a range of brilliant people.
I’m delighted to be spending the day celebrating with a woodland story circle with friends at Dadima’s CIC. We’ve shared some fabulous time together over the last year, exploring, connecting and learning from each other in the beautiful Chilterns National Landscape 🍃
Other highlights of the last year have included:
🎨 Bringing a touch of summer to a Salisbury street corner. As featured on TV and radio!
🍽️ Illustrating the DRG4FOOD ‘Food & Data’ comic, first published on International Day of Scientific Culture 2024.
✉️ I’ve been getting to know my young plant-loving, artistic penpal through Letters to a Pre-Scientist.
🥄 I was delighted to work with the brilliant Trixie Harrison and friends on the inaugural ‘SpoonFest: a festival of neurodivergent projects and passions’.
🌼 I’ve been working with The Open University and Floodplain Meadows Partnership on the ‘Mitti Matters‘ project, co-creating a research proposal on floodplain meadows with community partners. This has been an inspiring project, ending this month. More to share soon!
🌍 Working with University of Nottingham I created a visual summary for ‘Including the More-Than-Human World in Responsible Research & Innovation Frameworks‘.
🌸 I worked with my grassland friends at HOGENT University in Belgium to create a logo for their species-rich grassland consultancy, Nature Tomorrow.
🏆 I was delighted to be awarded ‘Illustration Artist of the Year’ 2024-25 by Prestige Awards South East.
✨ It was a pleasure to be invited to speak to the current group of PhD researchers on the infohackit design programme. It was taking part in this inspiring programme back in the lockdown days of 2020 that sparked me off on this wonderful & unexpected SciArt journey. Huge thanks to Peter & Lucy!
With also completing my PhD last May and taking up part time posts as an Associate Lecturer and Communications & Engagement Officer at The Open University University – it’s been a busy year indeed! I have some super exciting plans brewing for the year ahead and I look forward to connecting with friends & colleagues old & new. Could you be one of them?
Huge thanks & leafy gratitude to everyone who has shared the journey. Inklusive Nature blessings to you all! 🍃🙏
